Meet the Staff

Rev. David Watson began serving as the Pastor of Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Church on August 1st, 2018.

 

Prior to joining the MRPC Family, David worked for Baptist Community Ministries and served as Chaplain for the New Orleans Police Department, earning his Board Certification in Chaplaincy to become a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains.

 

David holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2009) and a Masters of Divinity Degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (2015). In addition, he completed a Chaplain Residency Program with Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas where he served as the Trauma Chaplain at Dell Children’s Medical Center and the ICU Chaplain.

 

David is married to the Reverend Sarah Chancellor-Watson, who serves as the Associate Pastor for Mission and Outreach at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church in New Orleans. David and Sarah have a son, Chance, who attends Metairie Ridge Daycare and a dog, Buster, who often helps with Children's Chapel!
